Who says advertising doesn't work? Thanks to those ubiquitous Bain de Soleil suntan oil ads from the early 80's, I have long been enchanted by the thought of frolicking in Saint-Tropez. While yours truly doesn't need any help in the tanning department, I would certainly love to experience this fabled playground of well-heeled sun seekers in the South of France. If Saint-Tropez is also on your travel wish list, consider a stay at the Hotel de Paris Saint-Tropez.
Hotel de Paris was a très popular Saint-Tropez destination in the 1960's for celebrities and this five-star property just re-opened in February 2013. Only 90 minutes from Nice International Airport (of course, you could also arrive by yacht) and a 2 minute walk from Saint-Tropez's famous port; Hotel de Paris has 52 rooms, 38 suites, a restaurant orchestrated by 3 Michelin star Chef Georges Blanc, and a rooftop terrace with a clear-bottom pool suspended 15 meters above the atrium. The elegantly colorful schemes of the guest rooms were inspired by the 60's and 70's. Sounds pretty swanky, oui?
If you book a stay at Hotel de Paris for the months of September and October 2013, the added incentives include a $60 voucher for the hotel's Spa Clarins, breakfast buffet, complimentary parking, and more. The offer is valid for stays Sept.1 - Oct. 31 (except Sept. 28 - Oct. 5). For more information, visit the Hotel de Paris Saint-Tropez website.
