Breaking news: maple syrup isn't just for pancakes anymore! If you're looking for a more sophisticated way to indulge in one of autumn's most iconic flavors, TAP 357 Canadian Maple Rye Whisky is the sip of the season.
Produced at the oldest distillery in Western Canada, TAP 357 is a premium small-batch Canadian whisky crafted from cask-aged 3-, 5-, and 7-year old blended rye whiskies that are married with pure "Canada 1 Light" maple syrup that was tapped at the first hint of spring in Quebec. The maple syrup blended into TAP 357 is 100% natural - free of any coloring or additives.
I was sent a sample of TAP 357 and I'm sipping on it as a I write this. Verdict - I'm loving the smooth flavor. The maple syrup aroma is divine - instantly identifiable but not overwhelming. The subtle sweetness of the maple syrup beautifully balances the earthiness of the rye. TAP 357's Master Blender Michel Marcil has deftly unleashed the essence of the maple syrup but avoided any cloying sticky or sugary notes that would overwhelm the taste. Whether you are a whisky connoisseur craving something unique or a newbie just starting to explore this classic spirit, TAP 357 provides a deliciously different drinking experience.
I'm sipping TAP 357 straight but I can't wait to try it in a hot toddy and in one of my favorite classic cocktails - a Manhattan. Substitute TAP 357 and, voila, a Manhattan transforms into The Montreal - ooh la la! In fact, as I drink TAP 357, I'm reminded of my solo trip to Montreal - one of my favorite trips.
