Ready, Set, Shop: Fashion Forward Philadelphia

I already knew that my friends in Philly were VERY passionate sports fans and foodies but who knew they were such fierce fashionistas! If you don't believe me, take a visit to the City of Brotherly Love and explore their great mix of major retailers and unique boutiques. And, did I mention that there is no sales tax on clothing in Philadelphia? Yay!

If you're skeptical about Philly's credentials as a fashion hub, plan on visiting from September 13-20 for The Philadelphia Collection - a series of fashion & style events taking place throughout the city. Nearly 75 events, including large-scale runway shows, fashion presentations, trunk shows, and panel discussions will allow consumers to get up close and personal to Philly's fashion scene. And, to kick of the fall fashion season in style, Philadelphia will also be participating in the worldwide sartorial extravaganza known as Fashion's Night Out for the very first time on September 6th.

2011 Runway Show at Macy's Center City


Stand out events during The Philadelphia Collection include the Anne Klein Flagship Grand Opening, Sephora's 8 Days of Beauty, and A Day in Paris. Also, Macy's Center City will host a fashion show featuring the designers of The Philadelphia Fashion Incubator -an organization that provides a select group of aspiring designers with the workspace and essential business resources needed to run successful and sustainable fashion companies in Philadelphia.
