Sometimes you hear a news story that just makes you smile. When I saw this segment on Good Day NY about NYC's first female taxi driver, I just had to share it with you. 97 year old Gertrude Jeanette drove a cab in the Big Apple from 1942-49. She was also an actress that performed as a leading lady for Tennessee Williams and counted Josephine Baker as a close friend. Ms. Jeanette also founded an acclaimed theater company in Harlem - a truly amazing lady. Watch the video clip and you'll see a photo of a younger Ms. Jeanette looking gorgeous in a little black dress! She even makes a driver's cap look stylish!
