Wine is the perfect way to take your taste buds on a road trip. If you have been daydreaming about a trip to Spain, Argentina, or Italy; each sip of the wines featured below will take you on a journey! These are also great options if you've been in a wine rut and want to try some new varietals beyond the ubiquitous Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio.
El Coto de Rioja Blanco 2010
$10
The leading brand in Spain, El Coto de Rioja's first bottling was released in 1975. A great value at only $10, this blend of 100% Viura grapes is a refreshing and delicious choice on a hot summer day. Fruity but not too sweet with a sophisticated hint of tartness, El Coto do Rioja Blanco is a crowd-pleaser.
CUMA Torrontes 2010
$12.99
Looking for an organic white wine? Produced by Michel Torino Estate, CUMA wines are certified organic and absolutely delicious. Torrontes is Argentina's indigenous white grape and CUMA showcases its flavors in a grand fashion. I was introduced to Torrontes a few years ago and it is a fantastic varietal. It has a mild floral taste that is balanced out by juicy peach flavors.
Santi Soave Classico DOC 2010
$16.99
If practice makes perfect, the winemakers at Santi have surely mastered their craft - they can trace their origins all the way back to 1843! Soave is making a big comeback, and deservedly so. Santi's blend of Garganega grapes with a dash of Trebbiano, create a medium body Soave with luscious flavors.
