Ahhh, Maine - so close but a world away. I can't believe that I've visited my neighbors to the north only once - it was a memorable weekend, way back in high school, that included deliciously obscene amounts of lobster. But now that I've learned about The Cliff House Resort & Spa, I see a visit to magical Maine in my crystal ball.
Founded in 1872 by the current owner's great grandmother, the Cliff House Resort & Spa is the oldest family owned and operated resort on the East Coast. Located about one hour north of Boston on the south coast of Maine between York and Ogonquit, the Cliff House has 166 seaside rooms with balconies overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. A highly regarded resort, the Cliff House was cited as a "Reader's Choice Top Spa" by Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
At the Cliff House, guests have the option of booking a room only or a great spa package like the Mothers/Daughters/Sisters/Friends package. This 2 night package starts at $823 per person and includes ocean-view Spa lodging; full breakfast each morning; lobster dinner or choice of entrée with beverage, appetizer and dessert one night of your choice; $125 spa credit per person; box of truffles, champagne and glasses, and a rose for your room. Maine sales tax and service charges are included. Be sure to try one of the signature facials or body wraps made with Maine blueberries!
