Did you recently see a big yellow double-decker bus cruising down Fifth Avenue that stood out from the rest? Were all of the passengers wearing straw hats, holding cups filled with mystery libations, and swaying to the swinging sounds of the live jazz band on board? Nope, those happy revelers weren't tourists gone rogue but a group of lucky New Yorkers that were invited to the
Festival Sud de France kick-off.
I was thrilled to join this cosmopolitan caravan as we 
toured the Big Apple tasting delicious wines from France's Languedoc-Roussillon region - the largest wine growing region in the world, it spans the Mediterranean coastline from the French border with Spain
all the way to Provence.
We cruised to 2 Manhattan restaurants:Cafe Noir and Casimir. But without a doubt, the highlight of the evening was a rollercoaster-like ride over the Manhattan Bridge into Brooklyn for our final glasses of wine at FADA in Williamsburg.
You won't get the awesome bus ride but you CAN taste the wonderful wines during the Festival Sud de France in NYC from June 14 - July 23. The Festival will feature:

Maison de la Région Languedoc-Roussillon, including a June 15 blending
seminar where guests will work with the key grape varieties of
Languedoc-Roussillon to create their own special blend to sip

Sud de France “Swirl & Learn” tastings at 60 wine retailers (in
Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn)
- Special
Languedoc-Roussillon wines by the glass and menus at many of the city’s
favorite bistros
