When I'm not traveling, I love exploring my hometown. Here are a few events happening in the Big Apple where you might run into me wearing a little black dress! Many of these events are free or very affordable, so get out and have some fun!
The Uniform Project: Little Black Dress Cocktail Party
Monday, April 12. 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. $25
Sheena Matheiken, founder of The Uniform Project, has pledged to wear the same black dress for one year as an exercise in fashion philanthropy and sustainable living. The funds raised from this project go to the Akanksha Foundation for the education of underprivileged children living in Indian slums. Join Sheena in toasting the last month of wearing her dress! Your $25 donation at the event will benefit the Uniform Project AND you get a martini and the thrill of helping a good cause while looking chic.
Wines from the Southern Hemisphere
Tuesday, April 13. 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm. $39 (plus tax)
Head over to Bacchus to experience a grand selection of wines from the Southern Hemisphere including South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and South America. Each participant will receive a beautiful Riedel crystal stem from which to taste and take home at the end of the night.
Free Music at Lincoln Center: Afro-Brazilian Music

Every Thursday Lincoln Center presents free concerts in the David Rubenstein Atrium. Tonight enjoy sultry Afro-Brazilian rhythms performed by Dendê and Hãhãhães.

NY’s Greenest: Earth Day Celebration

NY’s Greenest is a collaborative effort by Battery Park City’s major cultural institutions to present Earth Day events and activities designed to inspire awareness, education and appreciation for our environment. Highlights include a traditional dance social at the National Museum of the American Indian and the art installation Forest.
