Today, Barrows is the CEO (Chief Experience Officer) of Paris Luxe, an apartment rental agency that specializes in luxury short-term accommodations in the City of Lights. Apparently, Barrows is a big believer in the mantra "location, location, location!" In the anything goes until you got caught 1980's, Sydney Biddle Barrows made headlines as the Mayflower Madam. This blue-blooded descendant of pious Pilgrims ran an anything-but-prim escort service on Manhattan's tony Upper East Side that made big money catering to diplomats and executives.
Not one to hide from her made-for-tv past (starring Candice Bergen no less!), Barrows says "In the 1980s, I sold fantasies to single men.... Today I'm selling unforgettable memories to families." Okay.......
Barrows or not, the apartments on the Paris Luxe website do look fabulous and ooze Parisian charm. The services are further enhanced by a concierge to cater to your every legal whim. Paris Luxe also offers apartments in Italy.
Perhaps, she's no angel but Barrows has proven herself to be a clever businesswoman. Since the mid-late 1990's Barrows has run a sales consulting business that focuses on customer service and experience strategy and is known in business circles as "Madame Experience."
